Just in case you haven’t taken the plunge and started a Twitch channel yet. Getting views, followers and donations is difficult. You need consistency, a loyal and devoted community of fans and content that excites your viewers. Simply playing games in front of a camera used to work back in the day; alas those days are gone. Now, thanks to the field being so saturated, you really need a unique selling point to stand out.

So what if we told you that Fortnite streamer ThrGrefg not only broke his own twitch concurrent viewers world record —a record that stood at 639,000 viewers—he smashed the record. Establishing a new one with a concurrent view count that exceeded two million viewers. A truly staggering figure.

ThrGrefg Sets a New Standard

This record-breaking stream was hosted by Thegrefg to showcase his new personalised skin in Fortnite. An honour that has only ever been bestowed on three other players, these being Ninja, Lachlan and Loserfruit. This stream was to reveal his skin and his fans turned up in droves to see Fortnite history happen before their eyes.

The views began to skyrocket and some way into the stream, it became clear that TheGrefg was going to beat his record. So it seems all of Twitch latched onto this idea, almost seeing it as a challenge to see how high they could raise the figure. When the stream was in full flow, the peak view count was a whopping 2,390,000.

Twitching on another Level

No other streamer has even come close to this figure, or TheGrefg’s previous record for that matter. In fact, a collaboration between Ninja and music star Drake would only pull in 635,000 concurrent viewers, 4,000 less than TheGrefg’s previous record. Then the second closest would perhaps be US congresswoman Alexandria Occasio Cortez’s (AOC’s) Among Us stream that occurred just a few months ago, pulling in around 420,000 viewers.

How To Get Thegrefg’s New Skin

With all the hype surrounding the Spanish superstar’s new skin, you may be wondering, how do I get my hands on it. Well, according to insiders such as Ifiremonkey and HYPEX, we should be seeing this iconic skin hit the Fortnite store on the 16th of January at around 7 pm PST. This skin is thought to cost somewhere in the region of 2000-3000 v-bucks.

However, if you just can’t wait that long, you can always enter the upcoming ‘the floor is lava’ tournament. This event will take place on the 14th and 15th of January, with the winners being granted the chance to obtain this skin a day before anyone else. So if you want bragging rights, you might want to check it out.

So that’s our news regarding TheGrefg’s world record stream. What do you make of the news? Do you think that TheGrefg deserves his own skin? Will you be picking it up when it hits the store? What other streamers would you love to see be awarded with their own skin. Let us know in the comments section below. As always, thanks for reading.
